1 September until 20th September 2026
11 rue de l'Hotel de Ville, 1204 Geneva
From 1–20 September 2026, Arielle Fine Arts is transforming a gallery in Geneva’s Old Town into a fully curated interior dedicated to exceptional contemporary craftsmanship.Rather than presenting objects individually against white walls, Living with Craft brings them together as they might exist in a home.
The exhibition will include straw marquetry works, some watercolours, contemporary Colombian tapestries, exceptional handmade rugs, handwoven fans, furniture, lighting and decorative objects produced by Swiss artisans and designed by Arielle Fine Arts.
The works and objects come from Colombia, Ghana, the United Arab Emirates, France and Switzerland — different geographies and traditions brought together through a shared attention to material, gesture and craftsmanship. The artists and craftsmen included in the exhibition are Rosana Escobar · Lison de Caunes · Sibylle de Tavernost · Art Kern · Antilla di Lauro · Laurent Bécot Ruiz, alongside traditional craftsmanship from Ghana and a selection of Swiss artisans.
Each piece has been selected individually, but the exhibition is really about what happens when these objects begin to speak to one another — and when art and craft become part of everyday life.I want visitors to walk through the space and imagine these pieces beyond the exhibition — in their own homes, among the things they already love and live with.
Because ultimately, Living with Craft is not about what we collect. It is about what we choose to live with — and how those choices, over time, become part of who we are.
Meet the Artists
Throughout the exhibition, there will be opportunities to meet some of the artists and makers behind the works.
Three intimate evening conversations will take place in the exhibition space:
Thursday, 3 September · 6:30 pm : Lison de Caunes : A conversation around marqueterie de paille — the extraordinary French tradition of straw marquetry and its place within contemporary interiors.
Tuesday, 8 September · 6:30 pm: Rosana Escobar: Joining us from Colombia to discuss her practice and her exploration of plant-based fibres, materiality and traditional textile knowledge.
Thursday, 17th September · Nuit des bains - 6:30pm Laurent Bécot Ruiz : A conversation with the French artist around colour — explored as presence, rhythm and breath.
These events are open to the public, with registration.
